Key speakers from Canada and around the world will be invited on a regular basis to present the latest progress in the areas of attoscience, laser light sources, adaptive optics, quantum optics/information, nanophotonics, nonlinear fiber-optics, imaging and optical sensors.

Speakers will be drawn both from the academic and industrial sectors. The students will have a unique opportunity to meet with the experts in an informal setting. From them, a student learns the culture of research and also many things that were never included in research articles – what worked and what did not work. Each speaker will tour different labs and learn about the experiments being conducted from the trainees. The one-on-one interaction with experts will be an invaluable educational experience for the students.
