Extreme and Quantum Photonics Summer School

Ultrafast Lasers and Applications

June 23 - 27, 2014 in Ottawa

Every year the University of Ottawa’s Photonics Community organises and hosts a summer school designed as an in depth introduction for graduate students and post-doctoral fellows. The focus of the school rotates yearly to address the latest developments in extreme photonics.

We are pleased to announce that the school’s focus for 2014 will be Ultrafast lasers and application. Lecturers are internationally recognized Canadian and International leaders in the fundamental and applied aspect of this field. Each day will have four to five 90 minute talks on a selected topic in Ultrafast lasers and Applications. This topic will be developed from its basic principles to advanced research topics. Each day will culminate in a public lecture by an internationally renowned keynote speaker discussing latest advances.

This year’s summer school is organised by Professors Robert Boyd, Paul Corkum and Ravi Bhardwaj, and is sponsored by the uOttawa CREATE and CERC programs of the Faculty of Engineering and of the Faculty of Science.
